Security Cameras

I just recently got a new computer and i would like to set up cameras around an area and be able to see what the cameras see on my computer screen. I would like to know what cameras to use and what software i could use. i dont need expensive cameras. Cheaper is better. Any help would be great.

I havent played with it yet, but i will one day,

the sourceforge code is for Linux, I dont know what OS your using but if its windows you could dual boot, or port the code to windows.........
