What IS THis?!?!
When I logged on to my computer, i discovered this file. I have no idea what it could be, or what it does.

try to convert it out of BMP format, yuck!
some of us don't have all the bandwidth you guys do :-(

Have you scanned that file with antivirus/anti-trojan software yet? You might wanna do that soon, it could be malicious. I used to get files like that off of kazaa... hard to delete and what not.

Nope, I can't since the files are too big. Ill just describe it instead. Its a file which is named ~ and is abot 175kb big. The icon is the one it shows when windows doesnt know what the file is and its on my desktop. Any ideas of what it could be?
No, I havent scanned it yet. Im using the antivirus software that came with my computer, and I dont think it scans files.

Just delete it, it is something stupid and simple, I forgot what program generates it, but it's nothing. If you want, you can open it up in notepad, it has your user name, or screen name, or something in it. But don't worry, it's no problem at all.

I opened it with notepad, and it had a lot of encrypted text and some of my email contacts...

Unfortunatly you have got a virus.......
The down side is you delete it, BYE BYE COMPUTER
The up side is just create a knew folder and cut an paste it into it, then just place it somewere on your hard disk and forget about it..........

I just scanned it with AVG and didnt come up with anything...
