    Ever heard about httpTUNNEL?

    I read one posting here talking about http tunnel program that allows you to bypass a firewall.... Out of my curiousity since I am working at the office with my computer connected to a LAN with firewall and I cant use mirc or yahoo messenger I tried downloading httptunnel program but after trying several times of configuring the proxy setting of that damn program , i didnt let me go in to any website... what seems to be wrong? i dont think it recognizes the proxy setting of my server because i keep getting an error msg "cannot identify internet settings blah blah blah" then after serveral trials all i get from my browser is "page cannot be dislplayed" what did it do to my internet connection? I had to switch pc in order to get my internet connection back...

    when you see your people tend to spend office hours just chatting, that won't be cool if you're the boss.

    Hi,
    Only tunnel I have heard of is the tcp/ip tunnel protocol used for VPN encryption. It has nothing to do with "bypassing" any firewall, that would just bee silly.

    Its more like that your IT guy can enable remote users to get into LAN/WAN via Internet using VPN tunnel.

    I think its called pptp but I might be wrong.

    To enable chat on the firewall, just call yuor boss, and tell him you have so much free time, you wich to be able to chat online, and ask him to tell the IT security to weaken your comppanys security by opening all fun ports on the firewall

    But maybe there is some software that tunnels a point to point connection on a specific port, like the http port. For instance to remote controll an other PC.

    If so, that will give the poor IT firewall guy a head ace But still wont enable you to use your pc at work for fun.

    ps.
    If you really like your work, dont ask. Someone might not think its funny.
    I did not do it.

    heehee.

    this is fast becoming a flame thread. tsk tsk.

    let's be nice people. can you atleast browse ordinary websites? atleast you should be able to get through to port 80. i created before an mirc script together with coldfusion and i made a little irc mirror on web where you can chat. you need 1 http server (iis), with 1 web application (php, cf, asp), and 1 irc client (mirc). and oh, 1 programmer.

    what's "conjusive"?

    "Conjusive" = something like "kaaya-aya"
