Speaking of protocols. What is the difference between a DHCP server and a DNS server?

A dns server enables client computers on a network to register and RESOLVE DNS domain names. You can then access and use resources on other computers on the network.

A dhcp servers purpose is to reduce the complexity of administering IP addresses on your network. It assigns amongst other things ip address, DNS, gateway etc to a network pc.

Ummm...no. AO isn't that kind of site. It's a site for people who want to learn about various computer and security related topics. It isn't a site for who only want to damage things. We usually flame and neg those who ask.

    Word of warning.... duck....
