Cooling My Laptop!

Alright well, ive got a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and the cooling fan on the bottom is a real hassle because it never seems to get enough air and the computer shuts down because it has gotten to hot. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how i could keep it cool without bothering with hardware or anything cost related cause im broke . Ive tried going into BIOS and seeing if it had a temperature monitor but it didn't, so im clueless to any software means as to increasing the temperature at which it shuts down. (OS: WinXP Home)

Well I got other ideas, do you commonly put your Laptop on your Lap. Put it on the Table. That is going to help you get. More AIR IN.

Ok... I don't have a Satelite. But I am guessing that you could go to the site of your Laptop, and they might have something. On it.

Hum... You could also. Make sure that you have a working fan. How long have you had your Laptop. The fan could be dirty, which would make it. for your fan to keep your Laptop cool.

Try four small pieces of wood in each corner and raise it off its work surface.........costs nothing' and frequently works wonders

I had one where a mate had to spend £250 on having this antique table re-polished because his laptop underside had blistered it.

They did not have laptops 250 years ago

there seems to be a few products available and most just get the laptop off the desk in some way.

maybe even undeclock if you dont need all the power

EDIT: On the first design it shows that little gadget proping up the back of the laptop, instead of buying that you could just get a little piece of wood about 8 inches long and 3 inches thick and set your laptop up on that, it allows for more air flow.

Well, ive tried propping it up, i use it on a table and it comes with two legs that keep the fan about an inch off the ground but that doesnt seem to be enough, ill take a look at the links and thanks for the help!

Edit: Well, im trying the underclocking suggestion and i have another question: The cooling device here: http://www.hardwarecooling.com/produ...c295b849c8f63b says that it has a usb hub on it, just wanted to know if that means it has a usb port on itself to plug into since it takes up one on the laptop? Wasnt too sure.

try getting a small desk fan and sitting it next to the lappy, we have had to do that to our desk top pc. so it may work for your lappy...
