    Oops.. wrong turn. I thought this thread was about laptop cooling.

    Status, have you thought that maybe there's another reason why the laptop is heating up so much? I just think that if you increased the air circulation and the laptop still shuts off then maybe something else is wrong. Just a thought!

    /me takes the topic back on-topic..

    I have a Toshiba too (5100-603) and it gets hot..

    On linux I was playing around with POV-ray and I got it above 75 deg Celcius !!
    What I do now is place the laptop on a Glass table.. Glass will allow the heat to go thrue it..
    I don't know if this is "good practice" but it seems to work for me..

    The only downside is that I have to use a mousepad oncemore (optical mouse won't work on glass)
