    Google

    Hi,

A California-based pornographer says it is suing the world's most popular search engine, Google, for easing illegal access to its website.

Perfect 10, which offers pictures of "the world's most beautiful natural women", says Google's web search gives users free usernames and passwords.

It says Google also shows stolen Perfect 10 photos on other websites, enabling people to view without paying.

Google declined to comment, saying it had not seen the suit yet.

    Harm to profits

"They're showing pictures from my magazine and my website for free, so there's no reason for anyone to buy my products," Perfect 10 president Norm Zada told Reuters news agency.

He said he was suing Google for an unspecified amount of damages for violating copyright and harming his ability to make profits.

The company, which filed the suit at the federal court in Los Angeles, charges a monthly fee of $25.50 for access to its website.

Google searches throw up thumbnails of images owned by Perfect 10, which Mr Nada said are posted without permission.

He said his company had sent nearly 30 formal requests to Google, asking it to remove the photos and password lists from its search results, but was dissatisfied with the company's response.

Yeah, that sounds like this guy is just trying to make a quick buck at Google's expense.

lol, this is one guy who needs to do some research before he puts lawsuits against multi billion dollar corporations.

There is stuff you can add to your site and your bots.txt file which will automatically stop google from indexing his site or images, and for most pornographers Google HELPS them, or else no one would ever find their site among the trillions of porn sites online.
Did curiousity really kill the cat, or is that just what they want you to think?

*Cough* It's called robots.txt..... and it's a double edged sword.....

If you think you can hide stuff from google etc. by placing it in the robots.txt file remember that a cracker will look to see if you have one... It has to be publicly available and it shows those things you want to "hide"..... Obviously an interesting file.....

Not to take sides or anything. But he might have some actual legal ground on this. Google does need to setup some kind of department to handle it's search results for those who don't want to be listed. Google, is now an extremely rich company now and things need to get done. Remember when google had "Select a Database to use" if what this Zada person says is true then Google is showing the website's images without permission.... should be interesting how this works out.

He's conning google. Honestly, if you run and own a website, I highly doubt you don't know about google. Submit files to google, files go to stored state on google server, change your website, wait a bit, sue google.

    It's a con.

Sounds to me like a bunch of bull, Having pictures up on google is only going to give that perv, more hits to his site. Its his own fault for not properly configuring his site to hide Passwords and Pictures. I see this one being shot down.
