I think each of the top10 ap earners should be givin there own forum and make it invite only. Let them control exactly who is allowed in the section and give them the ability to kick people out also.

Anymore I just keep my mouth shut and answer questions. Mostly in the web design forums. I've choisen to forego the AO/IRC drama scene and just get back to what I'm good at.. Computers.
We don't need a new forum. We don't need another popularity contest. What we need to do is to just help the newbies. That what being a senior member is about. Very rarly do I have questions about something security related. If I do, I go to google and find my answer. Simple enough.
I have been here just about 2 years, a member for 1.5. And you know what has changed? Absolutly nothing (except for JP selling the site, and neg and MG32 getting married, congrats BTW) Besides these things the site has not changed a bit. And there isn't much any single person can do about it.
*sigh* Now that thats over...

I'll have to go with The|Specialist on this one.
Who are we to decide to judge who is good enough to enter ?
pffft, I'd even refuse to go in, even if I was invited. I'd rather be a newbie again.

G'day all, would it be easier just to provide a new forum for all to participate
in, maybe called "security focus" or "security only" or "just security", and specify
what relates to that forum , as is done under every other forum heading.
An example is "Site Suggestions" "Post your ideas about how we can make
AntiOnline better!" So it could be " Security focus" " A forum that is security
related only, for people with a good understanding of all things security".
Also to cater for the many "tech support" questions that some find annoying,
provide another forum, say, "Tech Support" " A forum for all non security related
questions dealing with everyday trouble shooting support" I think that it is nearly
impossible to have a secure system without first having the system running how it
should be.
It seems that new forums can be provided in a relative short time given it has merit.
This thread http://www.antionline.com/showthread...891#post649134 was posted by allenb1963 on 2nd of August 2003, and was replied to by intmon on
5th August 2003 with a positive reply and a new forum.
Anyways just some thoughts...cheers TidaLphasE23.......

The creation of a new forum would be perfect. Hell let me moderate and delete everything that doesn't apply heh...
As you've prolly noticed I've dropped off in replying to both this and the thread created by GG in Addicts. I've determined that it's a lost cause. Everyone who's against it are the people who are regular posters in Addicts and a few of the newer members, with a few exceptions of course. However I seem to be getting a lot of support through both APs and PMs. So a lot of people are in support of the idea and just not voicing their opinion publicly. Although I would love to see what intmon or any other of the JupM people have to say on this topic.

I realize that there are a lot of newbies here lately (and that's going to continue as more and more folks get online). Some newbies will always ask questions before they read the FAQs, some will be script kiddies, but overall, most folks come here to learn about security and join the community. And the majority of the good folks here do try to help them learn.
As far as creating an "invite only" forum, I don't necessarily think that'd be a good thing. If we need more mods to keep the security forums on topic, we can certainly discuss that option. What would be the positive benefits of having yet another general security forum, when we've already got security forums that are topic specific? And we already have the addicts forum for folks who've been around long enough to gain access to it. I've read through this entire thread, and still don't have a solid idea of how this would benefit the members. AO can tend to be intimidating enough for newbies, and having such a forum would tend to create an "elitist" attitude that we really don't want to convey. And, as many have said, who chooses who to invite or deny? On what basis?
I appreciate the thought put into this suggestion, and am always ready to hear your suggestions on how to make the site a better place to be.

Fighting a losing battle here at this site trying to find consistancy in the

learn to just shut my mouth in future.
On second thoughts, bugger it whoever the moderator for this forum
is, you wanna stop strokin your chumpy mate.

I posted
2pumpChump, your'e an inbred get off the drugs bananahead.
And had it deleted by some dumb guy who thinks that being a moderator entitles him/her
to pick and choose what he/she thinks is funny or not. Same old double standard crap that
"some senior members here seem to enjoy portraying. You can go stroke chump and the other
chump who deleted my thread. At least i tried to suggest some ideas in my posts, not just crap
about cocks, which you obviously enjoy.
You don't like what i have to say, then why not just negg my other posts, like i give
f#@k about ap's and gettin banned, ooooohhhhhh. Maybe then i can re-register as
c0ckStr0kiNgeG0, you might like that nic.
