dsilvaevan let me tell you something. There does not exist something like PIV sdram or PIII sdram. There are a lot more types of sdram than only 2, and they are not CPU dependent.
But you probably refer to the fact that most pc's come in a certain combination CPU/RAM
To show you there are more than 2 types available
- PC133 REG/ECC SDRAM
http://www.intel.com/technology/memo...c/sdram133.htm
- PC133 SDRAM below is a link to validated ramchips to be PC133:
http://www.intel.com/technology/memo...pc133sdram.htm
- PC100 SDRAM
http://www.intel.com/technology/memory/valweb1.htm
- PC100 REG/ECC SDRAM
http://www.intel.com/technology/memory/regdmm.htm
- PC66 REG/ECC SDRAM
http://www.intel.com/technology/memory/regdmm.htm
- PC66 SDRAM
http://www.intel.com/technology/memory/UNB_001.htm
And not counting the special versions, like Apacer CL2 PC133 or the Corsair or Kingston series
but yeah in general everyone one uses either PC100 or PC133

Hi DeXterkk,
Your flag indicates that you are in Serbia? It might not be so easy to get what you want there?.
SDRAM is still pretty common, as it is relatively low technology?
Please do as already suggested and check what type your computer (motherboard) will support.
These are usually PC66, PC100 and PC133. You can generally get away with putting PC133 into PC100 box, but you gain no benefit, other than PC100 is relatively scarce, so the PC133 might be cheaper.
You need to check what size modules your motherboard will support. Not all of them will take 256Mb, so you would need 2 x 128.
The only other point I would make, is that you have to be very careful about the CL value (latency) of the memory. They tend to be 2, 2.5, and 3. They will not match, and may not be compatible with certain computers (motherboards)
I suggest that you do a search for the "Crucial Technologies" website, and use their memory finder utility to get the specifications for your Computer/motherboard.
Good Luck

Might I also suggest you get 32x8 SDRAM instead of the more common 32x4 DIMMS...
I don't remember which motherboards have the issue, but some will report 256MB 32x4 DIMMS as only being 128mb of usable memory - getting the 32x8 DIMM will resolve this problem (or prevent it if you're not sure either)...

Only 12 points? are those antipoints?
Might I respectfully suggest that we await the reply of DeXterkk, before we make any further judgement?
I am sure that the question "as read" was not the real question?
Hey, I can handle a few languages, but not Serbo-Croat......................those guys are greedy,
they have 33 letters in their alphabet for a start.....it is a plot to stop us 26 letter pathetics solving their crossword problems?
Cheers
