How come when I type in urpmi kppp in mandrake 9.1 it doesn't install? I am also logged in as root, but can't seem to get anywhere with that, any help will be great, thanks.
Its been a while since I have used Mandrake and the rpm package manager but I would check that the sources targets for urpmi have been set up properly and initialized.
You should be able to do this through the Mandrake Control Center or alternatively check out http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/ to help set up external mirrors for urpmi on the commandline.
is urpmi already installed with mandrake or did you install it later?
