Reboot to Safe mode. This should allow you to delete the offending folder.
I can't remember, now, does XP Home have the System Restore? If so, you can also go back to before little brother did the deed and restore the system to that date.

I'm gonna go and reboot to safe mode...
But yes, WinXP has system restore, but I'm not sure how often I set it to update the restore files.

You may want to try this to go view scroll down to explorer bar if it there uncheck it then try to delect the file it.
I had to google 'jfgi' to see what it meant. The irony is overwhelming.

Ok, I managed to delete it. In order to clear up any questions about what I did I'm going to say exactly what I did. First I took it out off add/remove programs, and then I noticed that the folder containing the files was permenantly read only, so I went into regedit and deleted any mention of MyWebSearch, and then went into safe mode and deleted the folder. So its fixed, but I still have one question...
How the heck could the programmers get the program's folder to have the read-only option uncheckable (so you cant turn it off)?

When you've messed with it as much as me, it becomes second nature. If you truly want to learn the windows OS's, this is where you need to look around. But as was stated before, definetly make a backup of your registry using the export option first. It's also nice if you have a rat lab box to play with. You know... Install virii to see what they do. Makes a great reg hack box also.
cheers..
