The closest I found was at http://securityresponse.symantec.com...dyn/38798.html and it is what looks like a new entry for Trojan.Download.Swizz.

There was no date, so this may be a zero day, or very, very old.

    /edit
I checked around for any mention of this on McAfee and there was nothing. Updated the URL above, too.

It is a little rare, and is probably called something completely different by most AV companies .

How did you identify it as "trojan.swizzor"?

    go to:

    http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/

    and run "Activescan"

as they have it it their database, it should work

    Good luck

Nihil's on the right track with this one... Panda's activescan all the way

But as follow up, if you are running either WinME or WinXP Panda does have OS specific tools that they suggest running after you delete the trojan with Activescan that will remove all other traces of the trojan that may be left behind.

You can find them here, just choose whichever version of Twizzor the active scan says you have from their virus encyclopidia:

D'oh - sorry couldn't find edit button for that last post...

I just realized that it won't let you link to a search-result page in Panda's encyclopedia...

So here's a link to the encyclopedia's front page, just type swizzor into the search box and you'll get to where I was trying to link to before:

Thanks L_O_D.................I am in England, so do not know that much about AOL......try what I suggested, and get back if the problem continues.

Argh.. Stop Sign.. Have had a few machines with that, comes complet with dificult to install components and a excellent advertising client component,

not to be repeating waht has already been said.. I will add my front line..
    Spybot S&D
The Cleaner (from Moosoft, 30 day trial..that all you need to get a little bugger out)
but the best I have seen is .. visit a few of the AV companies, and read their removal instructions.. then follow them to the letter.. if that dosen't fix it.. use some imagination and assume the little bugger has changed.. and use another search of Google.. because here is my result..
    http://www.google.com.au/search?sour...TF-8&q=Swizzor
You will find in the listing there are a couple of links to other forums .. and yes the trojan is discussed there..As well the removal....

Will some one please help Lord_Of_Dragons Please.. HE needs help with using Google as well as reading the tutorial index on this site.. He will have found some of the answers in there.. and before any one corrects me .. check his other thread..

BTW: How have you gotten on with your BIOS setup password?

    Cheers

You can go to www.trendmicro.com. They have a virus search thing where you can look-up the virus by it's name.
