got new laptop ... need help
hello everyone ... i just got a laptop for free
it's dell latitude CSx H500TX ... nice little machine
the problem is that it has win NT installed and i want to upgrade it to 2000 ... my question is will the windows 2000 install all the necessary utilities to run the laptop or do i need special dell install cd... (you know .. like battery utils & docking station utils) ... where can i get these things

As far as drivers go, Windows 2000 should have a majority of them. Now you will probably need to get a video driver, NIC driver, and Modem driver. To find all of this, plus your other utilitiies you want, I would suggest that you go to the dell website. They have all the drivers, and stuff you need there.

normally, you should be able to upgrade your system to win2000 without any problems.
You might have to update/download some drivers forum the internet for your hardware components to work. You can find the minimum system requirements ont the website of microsoft.

i found one at a yard sale for close to $5, but it weighed like 30Lbs
