    free online class

I was looking for some information to verify my answer to another post when I ran across a pretty cool site.

    http://www.delmar.edu/Courses/

These are online courses at Del Mar College. Well, you are supposed to pay for the class and take it through the school, but they just happen to have all the information sitting right there on the web. So you may not get college credit, but you can still learn a lot. There are 9 courses there all dealing with networking in one way or another.

They do the same thing at my school. My class has all the lecture notes, recitations and projects posted on the web so even if you're not in the class you can still work through all the programs(intro to cs class). And the answers to the projects are posted on the web although yours will most likely not be exactly like the answer. Here is the link:

You can probably find a lot of other courses like this if you browse around the site. Happy hunting!ยก!
Thanks for the link souleman, I will have to take a look at some of the material.

http://www.cs.utsa.edu/~javalab/ <---- yup there are a few classes at your site. Also, if you search around enough, you can download a copy of "Handbook of Applied Cryptography" but I am not giving anyone that link as I would rather they not pull the book down so the students can't see it.

My College's course. Here you can find his lecture notes (which are more or less the book I am using outlined [Programming and Problem Solving with C++]) He also has cs and EE links.

Definately a lot of schools that do it this way.... My school has a fair number of the classes available online. We have 3 places for our courses WebCT (secure class management software -- password required), A SCO Server ran by one of the networking/os profs.. also password protected. However a fair number of the profs use the IT dept. server space. It's available threw http://infotech.fanshawec.ca Follow some links and you'll find various courses on Security, programming (Java, C#, C++, VB .NET), and networking (nortel curriculum, ccna, ccnp)... Each prof picks an area to use but i know for sure my web servers course is on there and my database course..
