IP Tracer?
Hi I was looking for a program that traces an IP and gets me the internet service provider information and etc. This would be a great help because I need to trace some IP's and stuff to contact their ISP.
I am running windows XP home edition. Thanks.

SamSpade is one of the best one's I've seen and even has an online version as well as a "packaged" version.

Try Samspade, a nifty little proggy.... or here: http://www.whois.com/
Just out of curiosity, why do you need to contanct an ISP? The only reason I ask is because sometimes when you think you are getting Emails or attacks from a certain IP, they are spoofed, or proxy servers, ar any other number of circumstances, and you are not really getting the ip you want...
lol..I agree with the posts above....I wasn't quick enough.

You can try xwhois - click
You use it with your Command Prompt -
unzip it to c:\windows
Then go to start >> accessories >> command prompt
Then type in xwhois ipaddresshere
Have fun

I have used Neo IP trace before... It was ok... But it was lacking in some areas.. although the Graphical Trace is kinda nice, it is a little bit inaccurate... Try it out

Wanted to contact their ISP....couldnt you just run a whois, or go to www.arin.net?

Its a friend of mine who I didn't know was a member here. I'll get him set up if he isn't already.
