AV programs independantly tested. Is there a site??

    Hi

I am looking for a site that does a comparison test on AV products. Hopefully independent and not biased in any way. I have so far found two but there are problems with both of them.

1.http://www.wilders.org/anti_viruses.htm ** I thought this one was OK, but I have noticed that even though it says updated 23 Nov, there are still dead links, with some info not correct.

2.http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/...p?id=32&mnu=32 ** This one I managed to find a post of some of its results, but the info itself is not available until Feb 14th, unless you buy the magazine. Also by then it will be out of date and I have no intention of buying the mag.

So, my question is: Is there a site or sites that continuously grade ALL AV products that can be taken as gospel, not just the well known ones? Even if there are a few independant sites, with their own ratings, as long as the final results can be compared because they are testing similar things, that would be fine. If they also test AT products then that is OK, but it needs to be a comprehensive product review site. I know I am asking for a lot, but something like this is pretty important, especially as most of us do not have access to the virii, to do our own tests.

I personally use Ezytrust at the moment, but with the two sites above, No1 still lists it as InocculateIT which it has not been called for nearly 2 years and the 2nd one it did not even get a mention in the top 20! I have never had a prob for over 3 years with this product now and am confused which is why I am on this trail. Because the list from the 2nd site was posted on another forum and not the site itself, here is the list as posted.

The basic answer is "No"....................there are a variety of sites, but you will not find one that tests all products at the same time. Also, the products change on a week by week basis

With AV companies it's all a big crapshoot really..... and logically.

On any given day any of the AV companies can be the first to have a new virus submitted and come up with a signature.... If they allow updates quickly enough and it's your AV company then you are "golden".... If it isn't your AV company and you get the virus in the x hours between your AV company getting it and the other company who found it providing it then you are screwed anyway.......

I found this site which tests AV software.
    http://www.icsalabs.com/html/communi...rus/labs.shtml

One problem I found was that the results were somewhat difficult to navigate. There are 2 seperate tests defined as On-Demand and On-Access for each AV program and whether the program passed or failed. Each test (On-Demand/On Access) is defined in the Certification Criteria link. Also, it's somewhat cryptic about *which* program they're testing as all the programs are listed by version number.

It seems quite thorough (I did look at the criteria for passing each test) as an AV testing site. So, maybe this will help or maybe not. Good luck anyways.
Note **The link that tsunami posted is also an excellent site for AV testing/reporting.
