    Nessus Failure

I can't get Nessus to log in, for some reason. It doesn't give me any real error messages, but it doesn't do anything when I try to, and I can't begin a scan of my computer because I'm not logged in.

    Any insights?

    Did you create a user?

    Did you start the service?

If you're not getting an error, then you should be loggin in.

After starting the service, open nessus.

After entering the username and password, click login.

It takes a copule of seconds after you start the service to get logged in.

After that, does it change the "login" button to "logout"?

I take it this is installed on a Linux box correct? Did you create the CERT? Are you using the NessusWX client with this? If you do a ps -ef | grep nessus do you see a process running (other than the previous command)?

make sure that you are letting nessus open a port for that "vitual server." If you are using any firewall or iptables, adjust so that it allows this.
