    CMD Targets

Hey guys, been gone awhile but im back. Anyway, is it possible to change a shortcuts target from the CMD prompt(Windows 2000)? I am asking mainly cause me and a bunch of guys want to enable the console for half-life OF and we are on school machines. Thanks to anyone willing to help.

You can change the short-cut location by going in the propriete. If it's what you want? But will your system admin will be stupid enough to let command prompt available to everyone?

In my school they do, heck we even have some ICT rooms where the pc's run WinME and where the server is NT4.0 or something, there are NO restrictions.
They tell us: would you please not download porn and not download programs without our permission and also please don't change any settings or the wallpaper
Even in Win2k ICT rooms there are no restrictions.

OK, I need to change the location and I dont have right click enabled. (Yes they enable the CMD prompt for everyone but disable right click.) So I am looking for a way to do this through the CMD prompt.

Can you press ALT+ENTER (when you have selected the shortcut-file)?? In Win98 this opens the properties screen, don't know about 2k though, prolly the same.

Give your school address! I'll offer myself a new sysadmin
