    We are all nerds now

When the final part of The Lord of the Rings trilogy opens next week, it will ratchet the franchise's box-office receipts up to several billion dollars - and mark the final triumph of all things geeky over what we used to think of as cool. Xan Brooks investigates how it happened

I thought it was cool when I read the books like 20 years ago

guess that makes me a nerd or a geek

    proud to be a geek

make it 30. In fact, I remember one guy babbling something
about Frodo Baggins back in tenth grade in high school...

    ...and that was 1968.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

Bah, I disagree, I've been a complete nerd my whole life, and never read nor seen Lord of the Rings. The whole fantasy genre just doesn't do anything for me.
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

When do i watch such movies, it amazes me how they do the graphics and stuff more then the actual theme of the movie.

Lol, give me a good Tom Clancy, Anne Rice, or any good murder mystery, and I'm set, but I just don't care for the fantasy/sci-fi genre.
