IP address
I received an e-mail from my daughter originating IP address 62.80.160.81. I found this IP is in Amsterdam, is there anyway of finding out more information for this address?
She has also sent an e-mails from 213.179.255.182 and 213.179.255.139, I found this is registered to Amterdam but it seems like these are in the Ukraine.
I would appreciate any help someone could give me, as it worries me what she is doing.

This Ukrtelecom they service many regions perhaps ( you might need this site to translate that russian text at Ukrtelecom http://www.freetranslation.com/ )
Ukrtelecom started the segment development in 1997. As of today, Internet network access nodes are installed in all oblast centers and in most of regional areas. The total number of the Internet nodes exceeds 280. In regions the Internet network access nodes are connected with Ukrtelecom Internet central node in Kiev that is linked up through fiber-optical communication lines to foreign nodes of Europe, USA, Russia. The carrying capacity of Ukrtelecom Internet network constitutes more than 250 Mbits/sec.
Perhaps that IP is from a Coffe Shoppe

You can always use the nslookup/tracert command, but it seems as you have done this already. Try checking this link http://happyhacker.org/sucks/sucks11-13-03.shtml, it's a similar case to yours.
Once you have the IP try contacting the ISP provider and get more info, but i don't think they'll give it blindly....info is usually provided to entities that have the power to request it or due to abuse cases.
Give this kneet tool a try: http://www.webattack.com/get/micronet.html.
Don't forget to try Ao's IP locator http://www.antionline.com/tools-and-...cate/index.php.

If she's in amsterdam i would think she's smokin pounds of weed every day...just my opinion. People go there around the world just for that. Its just legal there thats why. You can always do a simple whoise search on google for future reference.

I am from Amsterdam and if I trace those ip numbers they all go from Amsterdam (where I am) trough Viena to Kiev. Are you sure that in those traces you did Amsterdam was not just one of the hops, like Viena??

There's just one thing: this only indicates where the email originates from. It doesn't mean your daughter is there, just the computer used to send the email. It is still possible that she could be elsewhere.
What exactly is your concern over your daughter? Is she visiting, working or vacationing there?

It is also possible that they were sent through an open mail relay, which means that she could be anywhere and the relay happens to be located there.
ImitationRust> whois is a *nix command... you can also access it at http://www.samspade.org/t/ or download the tools for windows at http://samspade.org/ssw/download.html
