    help

    the computer automatically restarts after windows has loaded and i don't know how to stop it. the "-" key and some of the other keys don't work too. i'm using windows XP. please help. thanks.

    Is it rebooting after a fresh install or did this just start? What was the last item you installed? Have you tried booting into safe mode and doing a virus check, installed software check, system check? Do any errors appear before it reboots?

    the laptop was actually on dial-up then my friend linked it up to broadband. she suspects that maybe the antivirus software was not strong enough for broadband. other that=n that nothing was installed. no errors appear before it reboots. and going to the safe mode does not help.
