TCP/IP Security Problems
This was posted in retrofocus (http://www.securityfocus.com/infocus/1674), it's about IP spoofing, it was originally posted on March 11, 2003.
Now there is a link in it that I found a very interesting read as I didn't know about security issues with RIP, EGP,... (Maybe those RIP issues have been solved in RIP2 as the document is from 1989, don't know about that)
Read it here: http://www.ja.net/CERT/Bellovin/TCP-..._Problems.html
The above sentences are produced by the propaganda and indoctrination of people manipulating my mind since 1987, hence, I cannot be held responsible for this post\'s content - me

Thank you. That was very informative read. I would like to learn more about IP spoofing, maybe I'll google it.

TCP/IP version 4 has some major problems security wise. This is one of the reasons why TCP/IP version 6 was developed.

I'm still asking how hackers can change thier IP address, i.e. you see ip address that is not for him.
Beware of security guys!

They have been saying TCP/IPv6 would be ready for a while now. I have yet to see it used much outside of research. From what I understand, and correct me if I am wrong, TCP/IP V6 is going to help with the problem that IP addresses are running out by offering a way that you can use more bits and so on than in V4. I just woke up and I'm not quit functioning yet, but I know V6 has a new way of doing things of this nature. The fact that TCP/IP is, what? 30 Years old? It still works regaurdless of flaws and so on.

IP V 6 will have 2^128 addresses comapred to IP V 4 2^32 , it should give every person on earth more than 100 IPs to use.
One question though will IPV6 have the same problems of security as IPV4

IPv6 will be in full swing in the year 2008, it is still under development and devices are being tested to handle this traffic between networks. Security is part of the main focus with the development of IPv6, I am sure there will be new flaws found but security will get a boost at the network layer.
