new keyboard with linux

for christas i got a new keyboard
does anyone here have to have a certian keyboard or can type on anything
with me it as to sound good, feel good, a certain amount of preasure needed to type on keys
ok back on track
i have a power, sleep, and wake button on my keboard
ide like them to work or at lease the power button on RH9
is there a script i can dl or a tool i can use to config m keyboard?
cause i think if its there-use it

Maybe you should check for Linux drivers on the manufacturers website, go to www.google.com and search for redhat9 "keyboard name" driver download.

i can ask my parents bu dont have the box and the board ses nothing on it

I really wouldn't bother I always turn of all power saving, sleep and stuff as I have only found that it can cause problems. I believe that the less you have running in the background, the better, so I don't even bother with screensavers..............all stuff that can become corrupted or contend with something later on?

It sounds as if you have a "generic" windows keyboard, so your chances of a working driver are not so good, unless it is a perfect copy of a Microsoft one?

Most people don't really care about the keyboard, unless they are using one for 6 or more hours per day? your chair and mouse are probably more "personal" items when it comes to comfort and good working practice. Just get a good wrist rest...for your mouse pad as well

Older people (secretarial types) seem to prefer a harder, traditional shaped, keyboard, probably because they are used to the old electric typewriters that required a more positive keystroke? Younger sorts seem to like a lighter one, with a more ergonomic shape.......they are more used to using function keys and the numeric keypad, so they tend to have a "broader perception"?
