    Upgrade help

When I try to access a Access XP databse through my VB program, I get an error saying "Database Format not recognised". But all previous versions of Access databases work just fine. DO I need an upgrade? If so from where? I searched Microsoft.com but was unsuccessful.

    Hi,

Might I suggest that you cheat?.................go into the Access XP database and save it as an Office 2000 or 97 database, then your proggie will work.

XP supports earlier systems..............I have had great fun with Access 2 applications and Office 97 and 2000................otherwise you need to rewrite your VB code

I once had a situation where a 97 DB had been accessed using 2000, and the guy had just accepted the upgrade instruction...............I had to get it burnt to a CD, take it home, convert it to XP, copy it as 97 then take it back.....thank you Mr. Bill Gates!

I am afraid that if you want an upgrade you will have to buy it...........you get a discount

    Hope that this helps

My budget is tight - 0.00 / year. What do you think it'll be after spending it all on internet for downloading stuff.
    I'll stick with conversion method.
    Thanx.
