Athlon64 3000+ and compatibility
Hi,
I am about to buy a new Pc and the case processor has given me a lot food for thought...I really don't know what to choose among a Pentium4 2800Ghz with a 800Hz FSB and dual DDR or an Athlon64 3000+; as I am intrested in video and image processing as well as programming and office applications I would like to know which is the best processor for that use...the matter of compatibility concider me, as well, and I was wondering if there is any problem with the windows or other os (like Debian linux or FreeBSD). Also I would be gfrateful if anybody could inform me when the 64bit applications and os will be avalaible from the biggest companies.
Thanks
Giannis
