Updates for Windows through email

Well, I went on Usenet for the second time ever, and helped someone with a Windows problem. I had to use my email address on yahoo to sign up for it on google, but I was ok with it. Today, the next day, I have about 8 emails in my bulk folder from "Microsoft Corporation", saying I need to use the "patches" these emails have attached, to fix a security voulnerability.

I just remembered, not everyone here realises my sence of humor. If anyone gets these emails, delete them immedeatly. They contain a new virus going around called "Windows" and it will infect your PC, send data back home, and make your PC very unstable....

It also seems to hog memory on even the fastest computers, and makes your computing experiance generally a very unhappy one.

If you don't want any more spam, I'd kiss that yahoo email address goodbye & get another.

Do you have Pan with your SuSE distro, if not I'd reccommend using in future. You can set the email address to whatever you like and then add a human readable sig along the lines of:

gore.removethis @ yahoo.com

If you mean normal as in being stable, secured, and very fast, then a virus would remove the normality of it. Thus worsening it. It would seem my experience with windows varies from what most people complain about.

Steve also has a good point. That email is as good as dead since it has been targeted already, so I suggest getting a new one for everyday use. With google also catching usenet, the yahoo account is just waiting for a few hundred spambots.

Well, I was hoping someone would have a laugh about this, but oh well. The account should be ok, after some mods. For one, tracking spammers is fun. Also, yahoo is not my main account.

I have around 12 accounts I use for things. I have two yahoo accounts, one for school and one for whatever, like this.

And then I have 3 hotmail accounts, one for MSN and email from friends that are trusted, and another for untrusted people I have to sometimes contact. My ISP email....
Only the people I trust the most have this account. Prodikal, The_Jinx, Phishphreek, Pwaring and a few others have this account.
And then another ISP account for mailing lists I belong too.
I have a **** load of these, and I know most of them by heart. I put the passwords into a phraze in my mind and that's how I remember all of it.

Oh, and I have a few yahoo and hotmail accounts that I got when I first got the internet. They do nothing but recieve porn. Not the shitty spam kind where the girl has a penis, but the kind from back in the day when you actually could sign up and get free whack off material in your email without being spammed.....Ahh the good ol days.






The above message was typed and set up in a manner that it is easy on the eyes, and easy to read. The human eyes read in a letter "Z" style, so the way I have this whole message typed, it should be easy for reading.
That is why alot of ads you see in papers seem to have a Z shape to them. <---- Learned in my first semester of business classes.

BTW, I get those emails all the time, I think it's called the Swen virus (or something along those lines, I don't keep up to date with Windows viruses nowadays because I'm moving more and more over to Linux). I must admit that they are very well engineered, they really do appear to be from Microsoft if you've seen their website and aren't aware that MS don't send out attachments. The only thing that puzzles me is why the From: address is usually something@subdomain.ms.com rather than support@microsoft.com. Although it works fine for me, because I just delete anything from *@*.ms.com now - let's hope that no-one from Morgan Stanley wants to email me.

You know damn well they would ask you to reboot.
