If you have a broadband connection to the internet, Windows Media Player may issue the following error:

Windows Media Player Error C00D10B3 - unable to access the network.

    To workaround this issue:

    1. Stop all instances of Windows Media Player.

    2. Use the Registry Editor to navigate to:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences.

    3. Go to the Edit Tab and select New ---> DWORD value

    4. Add a ForceOnline Value Name and set the data value to 1
    that was the FIRST hit!

\"Look, Doc, I spent last Tuesday watching fibers on my carpet. And the whole time I was watching my carpet, I was worrying that I, I might vomit. And the whole time, I was thinking, \"I\'m a grown man. I should know what goes on my head.\" And the more I thought about it... the more I realized that I should just blow my brains out and end it all. But then I thought, well, if I thought more about blowing my brains out... I start worrying about what that was going to do to my goddamn carpet. Okay, so, ah-he, that was a GOOD day, Doc. And, and I just want you to give me some pills and let me get on with my life. \" -Roy Waller

lol, i guess so. i just get kinda tired of these newbs asking questions that could be answered really easily on Google. Maybe something that googles new posts and if something is found, deletes the post?

well untill u try it u dont know.
The error was because by the looks of it, it could not connect to the internet. A good guess would be that you havn`t got the codecs for the films you have and it was trying to retrive them.

I just went to regedit. I tried to to search for the dword to change the value under preferences, i can't find the DWORD. I followed this path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences .

Most of the time I run into media player errors they turn out to be virii, or the are DivX files.

If you don't have version 9, then upgrade and then you won't need to access the registry. From M$:

Note For the Windows Media Player 9 Series, you can perform the same function without Registry Editor. To do so, click Options under the Tools menu, and then select the Connect to the Internet (overrides other commands) check box.

    3. Go to the Edit Tab and select New ---> DWORD value

    4. Add a ForceOnline Value Name and set the data value to 1

you're not trying to find a DWORD value you are creating a new one - go to the key as given and follow 3 and 4 above
