    sussen scanner

    Hey all,

I just tried the sussen security scanner
    http://sussen.sourceforge.net/
Sussen is a security scanner which remotely tests computers or other devices and provides a report on their vulnerabilities. It features Python-based security tests, a GNOME interface, a GNOME-DB backend, and customizable reports.
I am not at liberty to tell the results of my scans

But I must say that sussen is a realy good tool !!
Easy to use and has good reports !

anyone else willing to try ?

Gave it a go - It was a real pain to install (via rpm) on fedora - Needed to hunt down loads of libs

Then when I ran it, it got the point of creating a database and a gnome widget failed!

    Gave up after that.

    Weird,

I don't know about the packaged version ( I usualy just download the source, only the big stuff I get binary )

I didn't have any of those problems..

while this tool isn't as good as nessus (imho) it is worth your while (unless you have steve's luck)

That's all I need to know - I won't persevere with a compile & fixing the widget problems.

I downloaded it from source and ended up having numerous other packages that it requires for install (part of pkgconfig). Sigh. Might be because I don't have gnome installed.
