i don't plan to hack anything i have already done that i got caught 1yr ago.
Your school may only have a "two strike" rule?

Do your friends have the same restrictions?.......if not it is YOU they are watching?

The advice you have been given is very sincere.....we do not like to see people get into trouble, ruin their lives, screw up their career prospects and so on......there are quite a few people on this forum who actually care!

Now you could go to other sites and get advice on how to do it.............and some well cool 1337 h4x0r will tell you.....all the time pissing his pants knowing that you will be throwing trash for the rest of your distinguished career?

Don't spit into the wind............don't tug on superman's cape........and don't mess around with your Admins

    PLEASE take care

the thing is i live at school. i just wanted to know so that i can make things more "livable"

I work at a university, and I hear this complaint enough times to just shake my head and walk away.
In the dorm rooms and apartments, the univesity supplies web access, cable tv, phone service, and in some a microwave and refrigerator. When I went to college, we had none of those, and guess what, it was livable and bearable. I don't know what is offered where you go to school, but come on, think about what is supplied for you and live with it.

Yes we do, but until you own the equiptment or own your own company, then censorship will probably come into play where you work or live.
Not trying to be mean or nasty, but just listen to what you are complaining about.

Can you use telnet? I so you should learn how to use Lynx or Links that was you can browse the web remotely the only downside is that you will be limited to a textual web browser.

you can use links or lynx remotely from "telnet://freeshell.org"
use the mkacct command to get started

I've recently volunteered at my College to help out mainaining it network. Not to rub it in or anything nihil , but we get 50MB emails with 25MB attachment limit. We can get our own FTP server with I believe 1Gig of space. Also the school has a deal with M$ to sell students .NET, Office 2k, WinXP and some other programs for about 5 -10 dollars. A few students have their own servers in their dorm where they host Counter-Strike and Battlefield. Its not bad at all, even though my school has closed certain ports to restrict the use of some programs. (Mainly P2P such as kazaa). I dont know what he's complaining about, but while I was in high school, me and a few friends where the ones taking care of all the computers in the library. I gotta tell you, students would always try to go to porn sites and such, and even install junk in there for pranks, and it seriously was an annoyance. Rwarren, Seriously take the advice given to you, and learn. Its not worth getting kicked out of school. The advice given to you is coming from other students, adults, system admins and teachers. If you seriously don't get our point, then...sorry man but you're outta luck.

    Cheers,

I'll skip all talk about what is legitimate, what is not...

you have used direct access to web sites, and admins noticed that... so they closed access to port 80 on remote computers either for your IP only, or for all network...

    why did they do that?
they probably got tired of cleaning all computers in network of spyware/malware so they find it easyier to block known urls on proxy server...

    what can you do?
you can continue with hacking around your network, and be at risk to be baned from internet by admins... or you can by youself some old notebook and access internet with your cellphone... or ask admins to allow you access on sites you want...

my advice is that you snoop around for some cybercaffe with loosy setup

i do agree thats why i don't plan to hack anything
i do know that you are saying and i agree thats why i have just contacted the Idaho State Board of Education. i have colected many metearils like the Child Internet Protection ACT. and many other peaces of legislation. i know that the school has taken this to far and i plan to go through leagle channels to try to make it more livable.

isolating people from the real world, then pooshing them out is litarly sending sheep amungst the wolfs.

rwarren, I think you're very confused and lost child. They're not cencoring anything, They're simply allowing you to use as much resources as they want on their "OWN" computers. Certain material needs to be cencored for the safety of public or private property. End of story. I own a CyberCafe. If I wanted to I can restrict many things on my computers, and if you come to tell me that I shouldnt do that...i'll laugh at you, give you your money back and tell u to go somewhere else. If everyone was allowed to do whatever they wanted to on the school's computers, then everything would get screwed up and you'd be left out with NADA. The school has taken nothing too far, and its just your childish mind who believes you should have all the freedom in the world to do whatever you want. BTW, i'd go back and read the first amendmend again if I was you. I'll save you some time:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Could you please tell me how your freedom of speech is being taken away from you???

I've worked in high school computer labs, and I have experience dealing with high school kids trying to screw around with the computers. There is a VERY VERY good reason why certain things are blocked from the computers. Could you please list here some of the websites that you are trying to visit? Besides....i'm sure you have a computer at home, so spend whatever time you have in school educating yourself and visit those sites when u get home. You want it to be more livable? You sound like a fish out of the water. You're only able to use those computers for a short time, I'm sure you'll be aright if you dont visit certain sites there. Its easy as that. You might as well go to a library and whine about why they wont allow you to install anything and bitch and complain about why everytime you click on the start button, it takes you to the shut down menu. CAPICE?

Good luck kiddo, Hope u dont get into trouble.

first thing sir, this argument of the first amendment being violated as already been argued in congress. i do understand your point, however what i mean by takeing action is that there are a list of guidlins to be fallowed. i have reveiwed these guildlines and have found many "improvments" that have not been stated on the sheet. i only wish to go through the proper leagle channels to inform the school that they have taken the guildlines way to far.

    do you understand now? Good.....
