    folder.htt

    every time i customize any folder in windows , a file name folder.htt is created it is hidden.AVG informs me that it is a virus but it doesn't seem to be of any harm since windows creates the file since i customized the folder should i delete it??????????????
    or is it really a virus

    Did your AVG identify it as a virus (e.g., Redlof.A by any chance?)

    I suggest you perform a full system scan with your AV. and as MsM said it might be Redlof.A. it inserts a small script code into the folder.htt file. deleting the file wouldn't help it will infect all your folder.htt file . and i been hearing lately that Virus has been found and spreading in many computer in the Indian Sub-Continent. Almost all of my School friends including me had a recent infectin with this virus

    no it just said that virus detected and gave the file name folder.htt

    I found this from Google it says that a certain VBS terrorist virus ( a VB script ) copies itself into files with extensions .htt and executes itself from in there.

    Norton is able to remove this prob.
