    Question Ping Storm

About ten minutes ago our firewall went nuts dropping ICMP traffic from all over the place. Now we get pinged from time to time, but nothing like this (see attached).
I was just wondering if anyone else is seeing an increase in ICMP traffic?

    Thanks

I've had a couple of ping sweeps but really my deny in ICMP activity seems to be on track for a normal daily total, about 300kb txt file.

So I'm not the only one seeing different stuff today.....

It sure was a weird one Tiger, it went on for about 20 minutes and then dropped back to normal. I am thinking it was some feeble attempt at a DDoS but I just don't know.

All to 1 IP or was it across a subnet?

Could be someone making noise to hide their ping sweep...... Bit of a clumsy way to go about it but there you go..... <s>

No it was just going to a single IP (external address of our firewall). None of my other senors picked up on anything. Again, just frigg'in weird.
