Can I upgrade my processor
I have a compaq armada 1573, Win 98, Pentium 1.
I want to upgrade the processor can I or does the mother board need to be changed???
Also can i get rid of a pentium processor and put in a AMD Athon Processor???

The armada 1573 is a laptop and you can't upgrade as I believe the cpu is wavesoldered to the motherboard. It's also highly unlikely that you'll find a new/replacement motherboard with a better processor. Even if you could, it would be cost prohibitive. You'd be better off searching through the refurbished/used laptops at pricewatch.com.

Laptop are cost are still a bit high but before upgrading, I would check if the invest realy worth versus invest in buying a brand new laptop.
Sometime, upgrading doesn't worth it.
