    Windows-XP Share Problems

Okay on my LAN I have 4 boxes sharing files:

    Win95
    WinNT
    Mandrake 9.2 (SMB)
    Windows XP

I can browse the Win95, WinNT, and SMB shares from all the other computers. However, the XP box will not let me. I can see the computer in the workgroup, but none of the computers can access it. The WinNT gives me this erro:

\\(my computer name) is not accessible

    Acess is denied
The Mandrake box gives me an error when trying to see the shares wit nmblookup or smbclient -L.

I can, however, see all the shares locally on the XP computer, and they have shown up just fine before at LAN parties.

    Current setup:

    internet--->4 port linksys--->1)XP 2)smoothwall 3)Mandrake 4)8 port switch--->1)Win95 2)WinXP 3)Slackware 4)Libranet

The XP box has black ice and zone alarm, but they are both disabled. And I have been able to see my shares in nautalus (sp?) on my Mandrake server.

    Help appreciated.

I know you may not want to, but uninstall Zone Alarm.

A lot of times even though you disable ZA, it still runs in the background.

Man, third time I answer this question today!

You need to install XP Network Package that come as an addons on XP Cd on the 98 and NT Machine. If this doesn't work install Netbios and make sure you're on the same workgroup.

Okay zone alarm is gone (and I really don't care, I hated that program so much). Still not tikky. Netbios is on:

And I have no clue what package you are talking about. I checked my cd and saw no addons that would work. A few things to add to this situation, I added a Win2k box that can also see all the other shares including my main computer (thats 5 computers sharing in all). If you can expand on that network patch a little bit I would be grateful. Other ideas will also be accepted. Thanks again.
