    Bellsouth Parental Controls

Does anyone happen to know how to disable the new Bellsouth parental controls? I need to help out someone by removing the time limit.

    try this link:

    http://nocensor.citizenlab.org/

This should be enough to get you started, but because I've never personally tried any of these methods, I cannot relate any tales of success or failure...

    fallen,

Any idea why there might be parental controls on that computer? I would tend to believe that it's not the parents that want those controls disabled. Being a parent of a 15 year old, I can tell you for sure, that he would be on 24/7 if allowed to and he would never accomplish anything constructive.

Fortunately I don't have to restrict his use or what sites he visits, because everytime he logs on a popup screen comes up that tells him he has no right to privacy while using a computer attached to my network and that by logging on, that is consent to monitoring his surfing habits and consent to search his hdd for illegal activities. Before he can continue he has to acknowledge the agreement within 30 seconds or the log on reappears. After 2 hours of use in one 24 hour period, another screen appears advising him to log off immediately or his hdd will be wiped 32 times (gutman) with zeros! Now come on you have to laugh, that's some hard core crap!!!!

Edit: j/k of course. fallen108 check your pm's

Edit2: Whether you like it or not, sooner or later you too will have to assume some serious responsibilities and you will be amazed at how smart your parents really were! When you have your own children, I'm sure you will repeat these very words, "I have already been your age and I probably know exactly what you are going to do before you do it, because I have already been there. The only thing that has changed is the toys."

But regardless, good luck because the road will be full of pot holes.

Parents are evil...anyway, I think that adults and kids alike should be able to have the same amount of privacy. Tell me something, would you enjoy your 15 year old installing a program on your computer without your knowledge and monitering every website visited, every email sent, and have a time limit on how long you stay online? I think not. But, just incase you do, to make this fair I suggest you let your kid do the same thing to your computer. That way, you can both moniter each other, and stay online all the time feeling miserable and worry about who's watching you. But, you probably gave him a lame excuse like "I'm the adult, you're the kid, I get to do what I want and you don't," really, that sounds more childish than a 15 YEAR OLD HAVING NO PRIVACY. You should trust your kid, have faith that he doesn't do anything stupid. Instead of taking away his rights, why don't you just sit down and have a talk with him about it? If he doesn't follow your rules thats his fault not yours. You shouldn't force people to do things it doesn't matter if they are right or wrong. Whether you like it or not, kids are human beings too and their generation does have the right of privacy.

fallen108, I assume you are going to be one of those that are going to be asking how to get around the firewall and permissions set by your school also. Then when you enter the work force, you will want to know how to tunnel through your company firewall so you can IM with your friends.
Why should kids be allowed privacy, especially on line? Have you earned the right, or do you just assume it is your right? What in this world have you done to earn any rights? Are you even using the computer for learning anything, or just playing online games and chatting?
Right now you are a kid. Kids are users, not producers. Kids historically do everything that is dangerous and non productive, and untill YOU prove to your parents that you can be responsible....it is their Duty to limit what you can get into.
If you wish them to remove the parental controls, show them you can be responsible for your own actions. Do your homework, and do your chores (if you even have any). Limit your game and chatting to a time limit that they can live with. Because you do not have any rights, but your parents do have responsibilities. Any rights you may gain, you will have to earn. And to me, it doesn't sound like you have earned any yet.

I was doing this for someone close to me..if you read the topic post. Actually, I am not the kind of guy who would do that, I am very interested in computers and I try to learn more and more new things every day. And for your information, my parents trust me, I do do the things I'm supposed to be doing. I didn't come to this website to become a malicious hacker, I came to learn. Recently, I found out that the person who made the above post has a great relationship with his son and that there are fair things going on over there. I only made that post for parents who don't give their kids a chance to prove that they're trustworthy. I completely agree with everything that you just said. But I'm different than all of my friends and everyone else. I want to learn.
