    Problems parsing URLs

    See this post:

    http://www.antionline.com/showthread...950#post730372

    It seems that despite removing the 'automatically parse URLs when posting, the URLs in this post have been truncated so that the exact url has '....' in it.

    Perhaps this is because it's in a {code} {/code} block ({} used instaed of [])

    Let me know if this is madness.

    So this:
    Code:
     $stuff=file("http://www.antionline.com");
    should be a hot link... and this should as well:
    Code:
     $stuff=file(" http://www.antionline.com ");

    Perhaps we're both mad. I could swear I witnessed this behavior yesterday, but now that I'm trying to fix it, it doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

    One question: did you edit your post? That might make a difference, as the code that handles new replies is different from what handles edited posts.

    Did you notice that while your first 2 URLs were turned into links, the third one wasn't? That's also rather odd.

    He he,

    Madness is catching!

    I did edit the post, but only because it had exibited the behaviour and I edited it in an attempt to fix it and it did the same thing. When I edited it I was expectng to see the {url} tag around it, but didn't

    I think the 3rd URL wasn't converted into atlink, because it's much shorter...

    My guess would be a length thing!.

    I also assume you are using this thread to test, since I've got lots subscription mails about posts to here yet find only one reply.

    In the grand scheme of things I don't think this is particularily important & I wouldn't waste too much effort on it.

    Hrm... I came to this thread today and found the second url in my above post had been made a link, but I know it wasn't when I posted it .... I edited and now it's not linked, but there's something odd going on here for certain.

    I agree it's not a pressing problem, but I'll devote a few cycles to it when I have time and try to sort it out.

    just to report that it happened again.. not a pressing issue like you said, mnstrgrl
    the frequency of it happening is probably small..

    like you've seen, it's when you edit a thread to add the url.

    it happened to me in this thread
