    Heads up: W32/NetSky-AB

I just noticed some files being blocked on our mailservers. They had all the characteristics of a virus but none of my virusscanners detected anything.

After a forced update (it automaticly updates every morning) Sophos detected it as W32/NetSky-AB. McAfee doesn't recognise it without an extra.dat (webimmune marked it as a 'New Detection').

I think it's going to be a looooong list ;-)

Seems to spread pretty fast. Already caught at least a dozen of 'm in the last hour.

    When does it stop ?

Why is netsky so popular that people keep making new ones ?

I have a feeling that Netsky has to have the most variants ever.
Since the beginning of time, Man has searched for the answers to the big questions: \'How did we get here?\' \'Is there life after death?\' \'Are we alone?\' But today, in this very theatre, you will be asked to answer the biggest question of them all...WHO LIVES IN A PINEAPPLE UNDER THE SEA?

This is last months news but according to http://www.bizreport.com/article.php?art_id=6665 , Phatbot holds the distinction of most variants with over 200.

Hackerintel.com says there are over 450 but I didn't find any other sources of that in the 3 minutes I spent at Google.

The creators of NetSky and Bagle seem to be fighting it out. And we're all innocent victims of their war.
