Upgrading Problem
Hi,,,in school im upgrading a computer to windows 98 (i know.....shut up) and we compleated it...but now the modem wont install.....any ideas?

lol yeah drivers would be good.
If your not sure of the modem, look at the chip on the modem and write down the numbers on there. Not sure which one it is though other than you usually look on the biggest chip on the card. Go to something like driverguide.com and search for that number. Or go to a store, buy a $15 modem that has a driver disk with it.

What were you upgrading from?
Was the modem working before, or is it new?
Win98 or Win98Se?
You might not know this, but the drivers are in a folder called "Win98", the folder called "drivers" just has some specialist stuff in it..........so if you go into device manager and try to re-install the drivers.......just point it to the Win98 folder on your CD.
If the modem doesn't show, then try the install new hardware option, and do the same.
