VPN between 2 WinXP box over Internet.
My friend and I are looking to set a VPN between each others. We use to play a few very old games that can only be play over a LAN connection. Before, he use to come over my house and plug himself into my Linksys router but now, I want to do over the Internet.
I’m looking for software that would create a VPN between him and me over the Internet so Windows XP think we are in the same LAN. Anyone know software that can do that? I’m using Windows XP plug behind a Linksys Router (I can do port forwarding) and he’s using Windows XP with Norton Firewall.
My best guest would be that VPN Server/Client software where I would be the server and my friend the client. The server must listen to a specific set of port so I can do port forwarding on my Linksys router.
Anyone know any software that can do that? Oh yea, free please!

XP has built in VPN abilities.
If you use the "Create a new connection" button, you can create an Advanced Connection, and have it recieve incoming VPN requests. Alternately, have your friend create a VPN client connection through a similar method and you should be set.
