Secure & Simple Mail Client?

Hello all...

I was wondering if any of you could suggest a free yet secure text-based e-mail client for Windows (98 SE and XP)?

Basically something that would allow me to easily connect to any web-based e-mail account (such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.), and then from there, read and send messages in text-only form.

I'm 'paranoid' when it comes to messages sent to me, as any of these messages could contain dangerous content, therefore I presume a text-based alternative would be the best option for me?

Dont think you can connect to web mail with a third party client. Only pop3, smpt, imap, I believe.

It sounds like you need to learn a lil' bit about how email can exploit a user. Webmail is pretty damn safe, IMO as long as you don't download crap sent to you. Usually its the clients, like outlook that get exploited. Or active X and scripts being enabled in the emails.

As for email on a server... Telnet?

A fairly recent exploit that comes to mind is the HTML+TIME exploit. I know that Yahoo and Hotmail have already rectified this problem months ago, but similar undiscovered exploits are always a concern of mine.
