My first post here
I see no reason why not turning web on. Whit it off, you leave the door wide open. People with laptops could use your internet connection for an example to do illegal stuff. WEP is not a very stong protoction, but use it! You dont want to invite hackers! If a hacker does some wardriving he can see which wirelessnetworks that are unprotected (no WEP).
If you want to get petter security, use HTTPS, IPsec, SSH, TKIP... there are many more encryption metodhs outside the IEEE 802.11.x standard. A program called Airsnort can pretty easy crack the WEP encryption key. If you use WEP, get a good key. Try this:

Nice first post, but watch the grammar. Some of the folks here take gramarr and speeling very seriously. Good information though, and that is what is always MOST important.
