linkys router
I have a linkys router on my dsl line and ran the sygate firewall test. The first test showed port 113 and 80 as closed.I used port forwarding and put 113 and 80 to different addresses. Now i have all ports stealth.Am i doing this right?I am very new at security.I run the xp firewall and zone alarm also.

Get rid of the XP firewall.
Make sure you have changed the default logon/password for the router.
Disable remote administration on the router.
Make sure the OS is up to date with security updates.
Last, read through the tutorials sections here to learn how to secure your OS.

Why is 80 closed? I understand the 113 because linksys leaves that open, but I don't get why 80 is blocked.

It does nothing to protect anything but Bill Gates' wallet.
Hmm....well if he's the most generous man on earth, whom has donated MILLIONS of dollars to poor countries, and whom has generously helped countries in times of natural disasters...sure why not?
