    Firewall software...

    Which is better?
I recommend Zone Alarm pro, I use it from windows 98, but in XP ,there seems to be some
conflicts between Zone Alarm and XP ,as a result I can't surf the internet?
What do u usually do deal with this problem ?
thx so much for any advice..

    What kind of conflict?
    Edit:
Win XP's default firewall doesnt exactly allow you to configure a lot of options..I'd stick with ZA if you're comfortable with it

Don't enable both the buildin XP firewall (ICF is switched on by default on SP1) and ZoneAlarm at the same time. Enable one or the other but not both.

Check your settings on the LAN (or dialup) adapter. On the advanced tab you'll find a switch to turn on/off the ICF. Turn it off if you plan to use ZA.

Just AO?hmm...check your settings...maybe you've got something in there,I havent had that prob before tho..
To disable Windows firewall, go to network connections>properties>the connection you're on>advanced there should be a firewall box..disable it

Zone Alarm is okay, but you have other option's. Norton is a good A/V software program for beggining user's. It update's automatically and work's pretty well.

include AO, and some other site, I think it maybe caused by Zone Alarm, because now, I use
ZoneAlarm ,at the same time I surf internet well, but some time I have to closed Zone Alarm,
than surf internet ,at last open Zone Alarm , there will be ok.
anyway, I think Norton antivirus and Zone Alarm firewall is good, I haven't used
Norton firewall, maybe it also good,

Do you have anything else other than Zone Alarm? What you are potentially describing is something that limits cookies and/or scripts (something like Anonymizer does this).

    three things seem run automaticly:
Zone Alarm, Norton, Java (tm)2 platform,
and the other set I am used to use XP default set.
It seems to be something wrong with cookies and scripts,
because I can't listen mp3 online and some flash in web can't be open,
but after I close the firewall, than open the web ,after that open firewall again,
everything is OK. and most time I surf the internet OK.
    p.s.
    that's a good game:http://flash.skyhits.com/userup/allflash/2668.htm
