    Dial-up Firewall Router

I an trying to find a reliable router for a dial-up home network system with as many of the features listed below as possible.

    1. 4 ports
    2. NAT firewall
    3. Compatible w/Windows 98 thru Windows XP(?) and Unix/Linux
    4. 10/100 LAN interface
    5. DHCP support
    6. Stateful Packet Inspection firewall
    7. Filtering tools
    8. Logging tools
    9. Printer port
    10. Easy to set up and maintain

The only routers I have been able to locate thus far are the Netgear FVS328 (http://www.netgear.com/products/details/FVS328.php), Asante FR3004C / FR3004LC / FR3004FLC (http://www.unlimited.com/productpage.asp?family_id=649) and SMC Barricade 7004ABR (http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?sec=Pro...prod=67&site=c). Using a separate PC running something like IPCop, Smoothwall, etc. is unfortunately, not a viable option.

Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That sounds a lot for a home network, its gonna cost ya too!!

I use a Belkin Wireless + Ethernet router with a built in modem.

It cost be around 90, not sure what that is in $'s

It has everything you mentioned except for the Printer Port.

But I just connect the printer to one of the computers on the network that runs XP Pro and use that.

It has 4 ethernet ports and can take upto 75 wireless connections to!
And it has to be the easiest router I have seen to configure!

Here is the Link its their UK site though so you would need to find the US alternative!

    Nokia -
Thanks for the info. I will definitely check into the Belkin model. I had stayed away from the routers with modems included because the few I found were more like a hub/modem with only 10 LAN capabilities. As far as price goes, the SMC is pretty low cost but doesn't include an SPI firewall and the Netgear is very spendy at over $200.00. Thanks again for the link - much appreciated.
