    good books on penetration

I've currently been reading books like Jon Erikson's "Hacking: the art of exploitation" and it suddenly occurred to me that I know about programming, and I know a little about network security, but I don't know much about penetration. The books I have read have all been about doing things once your in. I have read the standard "Anarchist's cook book" version of hacking, but most of it sounds like complete rubbish (not to mention outdated). I'm on the lookout for good books about penetration and intrusion. If anyone knows of a "good read" and is willing to share the name, author, and how helpful/relevant it would be to my course of study I would be greatly in their debt. If you need to know what O/S's I'm running... I have Windows XP Home edition along with Mandrake Linux 9.1 (i'm new with the linux so anything on that end may need to be "dummed down"). The computer I'll be testing on is a Dell running Windows XP (I own it so I'm running a completely ligit setup). Also any tools that you guys recommend would be helpful, I'm kinda on the free kick so if they cost $ I probably won't look into it unless it'll pay for itself 20 times over in the long run, but I'd like to start off with the manual hacks first (going in without the programs to do it for me). Well I thank you all in advance.

I don't think so if sexy and bad, and let alone girl, is actually Sexy Bad Man pretending to be female. That is just "Shrinkage".

    Ewwww.
