Here is a good article i found on securityfocus for those of us that don't really have a clue or are just learning about Steganography. It provides a good basic understanding of what it is and how it can be used. I hope you find it interesting and helpful in getting started with Steganography!

Thanks for the link, watch the dates though. Additionally there are 221 threads in our Crypto/Stegano Forum with a whole wealth of information.
Further, you might want to pick up a copy of "Hiding in Plane Sight" by Eric Cole. That book can cause a Charmin Moment for those that don't know how frequently it is used and what for.

I've read Coles book and I wasn't very impressed. Although it has a solid background of stego/crypto I felt that he focused too much on how to use the existing tools in the latter half of the book. I was hoping for more theory I suppose but it was a good introduction to stego and the current tools.
