Personally though I think OBSD 2.9 and IPF is better the PF though

When the dates are flashing on a thread, that generally indicates that the thread is kinda old. We try not to post on the threads in that case. Although I'm glad you and others are reading this, because that's why I generated it. Just for info, I'll be putting out #3 pretty soon, so stay tuned.....

    cheers

I'm finding lots of recommendations for free firewalls in the forums - but not to much for the non-freeversions. - I can find lots of online rankings (listed a few below) does anyone here have any suggestions as to what would be the best and why? I currently have zonealarm pro 3.0 an I am wondering if I would gain security by possibly upgrading? Does anyone know anythign about panda?

Also, does anyone have any knowledge as to whether this class is worth the $$?

    Thanks.

    Thanks.
Am I falling for troll bait here..??

If what is at that link is for real, I'm willing to bet that most if not all of that "for sale" information is grabbed directly from a few google searches.

I suggest you simply start reading the volumes of FREE info available on the web..

HINT: This site works pretty good for that...

    JohnDoe,

Systems Administrators and other very knowledgeable folks made the previous recommendations. But if you want to pour out some money on a firewall rather than use a free one that will more than fulfill your needs, then by all means be my guest! Because there are plenty of them out there that will be more than happy to take your money.

Additionally, remember that Internet Security is not just based on a firewall. A multi-layered defense is as close to being secure online as you will get. There are many great threads in AO on locking down your computer and creating that layered defense.

    cheers
