I had a similar problem, in that IE6 wouldn't connect at all.
Have Symantec NetSec 2004. ISP is Virgin. Win2K Pro SP4 ALL patches.
Virgin told me(via phone call) that they have an 'issue' with Norton's F/W.

So; I would be inclined towards Soda's theory.

    My 2c

[edit] only solution so far, is to 'disable' F/W when D/Ling mail....... am still trying to solve this via Symantec / Virgin. [/edit]
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

Try to add it to your trusted sites:

Tools, internet options, security, trusted sites, sites

    Add the https://www.siteblah.com or whatever.

See if you have any weird entries in your restricted sites...
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

I've had that issue in the past...pretty much the only thing that fixed it was a Reformat.
