That's strange Foxy, I just noticed the SP1 thing...I thought it was higher since Windows Update was automatically progressing to SP4. I wonder why it's skipping?
I'll check out those links guys, thanks.

Foxy -- Going step by step, I could get as far as SP2, but it hangs up with the same problem on SP3, so that didn't work.
SDK -- CopyLock won't work because the file is in use by the system, so access is denied even to it.

CopyLock can rename or delete any file in use. It'll do it at next reboot.

Unfortunately, it didn't do it at boot either. When I tell it to replace the file and move it to the CopyLock folder, I receive the message:
0 files were successfully replaced and 1 failed.
The readme file suggests what may be the reason:
Note: this may not work if the file to replace is protected by the system.
Tried restarting, and nothing happened with CopyLock, darn thing's still there. Any other ideas?

Remove the file msimn.exe from C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache and I'll no longer protected by the system!

Outlook Express should be shown in Add Remove programs, I have attached a screen shot of my win2k Add/Remove list. Not sure if this will help, my advice is to reformat and start over.
I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?
