    analyzing network files .......

    Starts some RPC-FFC :0

and then goes on till 100 and then starts all over again.

    What OS are you running?

What do you have the pin settings on the individual HD's?

First off it is a normal HD you will have pins and a jumper and this jumper will be positioned to tell the computer what priority it should take.

Also, if you do not need to access the HD I would format them anyway. If there is no need for the information on them.

Also if you do not have an OS just boot up with the new OS and it should be able to format it for you.

I tried that, it 's been setup to boot from the hard disk, then i tried one more thing: I put in the win 2k server and it said that there are no hard disks detected in the system. Has my hard disk crashed ?

Check the ide cable to make sure it is all the way in on the motherboard and harddrive and check to see if there is a little notch on the connector of the cable if not try flipping the cable around also make sure the power connector is snug also and then try it.

Enter you Sys Bios and check to make sure that you have set your HD and then check you boot config in the bios and make sure it is booting to your 3 1/2, HD and IDE (CDROM).

After this I would double check the jumper settings (make sure one is set to master and one is set to either slave or Cable Select (CS).

err... HD should be detect by bios or bios cant boot from HD...
every bios nowadays has a "detect disk drive" option. run it and see if bios can detect HD. If not....
Your HDs are not SCSI, are they?
