    number of posts by search lesser then with magnifyglass

    i've searched for the posts by mjk, and found that he got 231 posts, but when i clicked the magnifyglass next to his name, it got over 500, where did the other 270 go??

    is this a bug, or a maximum search option??

    How about posts by thread or total posts. Total posts=number of total replys. In other words the total number of times they clicked the reply button. As opposed to total threads= the number of threads to which any number of responses were given.

    Search to display by posts. Searching for your name and displaying results as posts NOT threads gives my 257, which is correct.

    SOme posts are in the Thread Graveyard, so they dont show up ....

    Posts in the Thread Graveyard aren't deducted from the Post Total (in contrast to deleted posts)

    but if that were correct (they are in the graveyard) then you wouldn't see them either through the magnifyglass...

    but i think it might have something to do with the replies, that it doesn't display the threads you started yourself or something like that...

    259 is your total number of replies, 107 is the number of different threads you made those replies in.

    If a user would have 6,000 posts in the Non-Sensical Thread and nothing else, the magnifying glass-result would show 6,000, while the Search would show only 1. In the Advanced Search, you can make that distinction: either Show results as post or Show results as threads.
